I don’t know about any of you, but easter candy is probably one of my favorites! All the good treats look so appealing in their cute spring packaging, not to mention those absolutely delicious tootsie roll eggs *insert mouth watering emoji here! haha*. I love a few homemade treats that can be home made too. I think it’s fun to make them with the kiddos and create some memories along side dying eggs. But my all time favorite easter candy is Cadbury eggs! I’m sharing 3 of my favorite recipes with you all that are SO simple and easy.
Muddy Buddy Cadbury’s
The first is super simple so it’s defiantly doable in a time crunch. All you need to do is make muddy buddies and some cadbury eggs! For the muddy buddies themselves, I literally just follow the recipe on the Corn Chex box! haha. All you need is:
- 9 cups Corn Chex™/Rice Chex™/Wheat Chex™ or Chocolate Chex™ cereal (or combination, depends on what you like! I usually go with Corn Chex)
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup peanut butter
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 1/2cups powdered sugar
As for the Directions:
- Into large bowl, measure cereal; set aside.
- In 1-quart microwavable bowl, microwave chocolate chips, peanut butter and butter uncovered on High 1 minute; stir. Microwave about 30 seconds longer or until mixture can be stirred smooth. Stir in vanilla. …
- Add powdered sugar. Seal bag; shake until well coated.
After they have been made, I grab the bag of Cadbury eggs and throw them in! I use probably a cup or so, but put as many in as you want or don’t want! If you don’t like Cadbury’s, I’m sure you could find other chocolate treats to add color and fun to the muddy buddies too!
No Bake Egg Nests
This next one also quick and simple! All you need to do is make your favorite No Bakes and shape them into a nest then top with the Cadbury’s! I got this recipe from my mom, they are so good! You can find the recipe here on her blog as well!
- 2 cups sugar
- 1/4 cup powder baking cocoa
- Pinch of salt
- 1 stick of butter
- 1/2 cup milk
Turn on the stove to medium heat and bring to a boil for two minutes stirring while it boils. Remove from heat.
Add:
- 3/4 cup chunky or smooth peanut butter
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla.
- 1 1/2 cups old fashion oatmeal
- 1 1/2 cups quick cooking oatmeal
Add oatmeal to chocolate mixture into the stock pot and mix well. Use a 8 cookie scoop or 1/2 cup measuring cup and scoop oatmeal mixture in mounds onto wax paper. When you are scooping them onto the cookie sheet, get a spoon and press down on the center of the no bake before they cool to get a ‘nest shape’. Once they have hardened, top them with three or four cadbury eggs!
Chocolate Egg Cookies
This one is SUPER simple. All you really need to do is make your favorite Chocolate Chip cookies, only swap out the chocolate chips for Cadbury eggs! Just be sure to buy the Mini Cadbury eggs! Get the regular size one’s and it’ll be a mess haha. I personally LOVE these and they are so easy to make. They’ll be a hit with your kids too!
Hope this inspires you to make some yummy treats of your own!
