Hello everyone! Today I’m posting about how I made these cute labels that fit the Container Stores Multi-Purpose bins. I love these bins and use them in multiple places in my home! I even used them for our deep freezer organization too! I have wanted a deep freezer for FOREVER and we finally bought one! I don’t know what took us so long to get one, but I’m so glad we finally did. We have lot’s of meats and frozen fruits that we sometimes just can’t fit all into that little drawer on the bottom of our fridge.
We are also going to have another little one soon so I would like to have some freezer meals for us when the time comes… and our little drawer freezer just wasn’t going to cut it haha! Although deep freezers are great and I’m glad we have one, it’s easy to get disorganized and jumbled in there! Ours only came with one basket so I knew I wanted more containers if I wanted things to stay somewhat organized.
I also LOVE these containers because they can be used anywhere in the home! We have them in our kitchen, to the craft room, to under the kitchen sink!
Why I choose the containers
- They are skinny and tall. Which means you can fit more in a little space!
- They are easy to stack side by side.
- They come in lot’s of different sizes!
I really do love them! I use these containers for much more than just our freezer. I made labels to make it a little easier to make sure we kept meats in the same bins! I wanted to make sure we kept those separate in case of leaks. I also wanted some nice freezer bags to put sliced bananas, fresh fruit/veggies about to go bad, etc. So I did some searching and I found these reusable freezer bags on amazon prime days that are perfect for pretty much everything! They have a great seal and I love that you can use them over and over.
Deep Freezer organizing tips:
- Place older items near the front/top of the bins so that you will use them first!
- Freeze foods in a way that minimizes the space they take up. For example, Liquids should be frozen in bags lying flat.
- Organize by food type, placing meats in one bin and vegetables in another, to minimize cross contamination. This also helps you find a certain food item faster.
- Make an inventory list and attach it to the outside of your freezer. This list will help you keep track of all the items in your freezer. As you deplete items, simply cross them off the inventory to stay current!
I hope this inspires you all in your own homes!
Thanks for visiting!
XO, Jamie
