Hello everyone! I know it’s a little early to start thinking about Christmas gifts, but I wanted to share these to give you some ideas to start thinking about! These are affordable, simple, and cute neighbor ideas for the holidays! There are five ideas: Homemade Spice/Sprinkle jars, Homemade Extract labels, Homemade infused oils, Homemade canning/mason jar labels, and the homemade sourdough label!
I love how these are thoughtful yet simple gifts. Perfect if you wanted to do something for neighbors, Christmas parties, co workers, friends, etc!
All of these labels are water/oil resistant too! So even if they get some spills from the kitchen, they’ll still be as good as new!
All of these labels are available on my Etsy shop!
1. Spice/Sprinkle Jars
These are SO easy and affordable! I got the jars from amazon and they come in a pack of 48. You can fill them with holiday sprinkles, or cinnamon sugar, or a homemade spice mix!
My favorite is cinnamon sugar! SO simple and perfect to bake with for the holidays:
Cinnamon Sugar:
- 2-3 tbsp of sugar
- 1 tsp of cinnamon
Or if you’d rather do some holiday Sprinkles, I found some these sprinkles on amazon!
Holiday Canning/Mason Jar Labels
These Mason jars are always a good gift staple! It’s so easy to throw jams, cookie mixes, hot cocoa powder, etc! There are literally SO many things you could put in these. These jars I just found at the dollar spot at target, but I found these gold lids on amazon if you like the gold look!
Here is a simple strawberry jam recipe! This usually makes about 4-5 mason jars and is so yummy and delicious! It’s defiantly a staple and is a deep red color for the holidays.
Frozen Strawberry Jam
- 8 Cups of Strawberries
- 1 lemon zest
- 2-4 tbsp of lemon
- 7 Cups of sugar
- 6 tbps of pectin
Directions:
- Cut and mash strawberries, add the lemon juice and zest.
- Put the strawberries in a large sauce pan with the pectin and bring to a low boil.
- Add all of the sugar and boil for one minute.
- Take off the heat and pour into your jars!
TIP: If there is a lot of foam, add 2 tbsp of butter to help reduce the foam.
Holiday Oil Labels
This one is such a cute fun way to do infused oils! You can do all sorts of different flavors for these such as garlic, lemon, etc. A perfect gift for a cook!
All you need is olive oil and some rosemary leaves to make an infused oil, if you want to learn how to make it, head over to the spruce eats! She has a great recipe on how to make it!
Holiday Vanilla Extract Labels
Holiday Starter Sourdough Labels
This one is a very cheap and simple gift idea! But also super helpful/thoughtful for those who love to bake. These simple labels can go on lot’s of jars!
If you want to know more about sour dough starters, I recommend going and following Amber’s Kitchen! She has lot’s of sour dough recipes and tips for sour dough starters.
